Storing Seed and Oilseed the Right Way 

Seed and oilseed are more demanding to store than they first appear. Too much moisture invites mould and heating, oilseeds can deteriorate as the oil breaks down, and seed intended for sowing loses viability if conditions slip. A properly designed silo holds temperature and humidity steady, keeps pests and water out, and lets you draw off clean, undamaged crops. That protection is the whole reason to store it well rather than settle for whatever space is to hand.

Oilseeds such as oilseed rape, soya and other free-flowing oil crops are usually held in large volumes across the post-harvest window. Our flat-bottom silos are built for exactly that, with working volumes up to 11,888 cubic metres and diameters from 3 to 25 metres. The flat base gives the most capacity for the money when total tonnage is the priority, which makes it the natural choice for oilseed processors, merchants and large arable operations. Protecting Seed Quality with Aeration and Segregation 

Long storage is where quality is won or lost. Aeration is built in to manage temperature and humidity across the whole storage window, holding the crop in good condition month after month. And because seed and oilseed are often kept apart by variety, grade or contract, multiple silos can be configured in groups, so you segregate cleanly and keep every batch traceable from intake to dispatch.
