Glass Fused Steel Tanks

Standard steel does not last long against sewage and effluent. Glass fused steel tanks solve that by bonding a layer of glass to steel, giving you a tank that shrugs off chemical attack and holds up for decades. We build glass fused steel tanks for the toughest waste and effluent duties, sealed tight and made to comply.

How Glass Fused to Steel Tanks Resist Corrosion

Aggressive waste liquids break down ordinary steel over time. A glass fused to steel tank fuses a hard glass layer onto steel panels, combining the strength of steel with the chemical resistance of glass. That surface does not rust, react, or degrade the way bare steel does, so the tank stays structurally sound through years of exposure. Lower corrosion also means lower maintenance costs over the life of the tank.

Inside the Glass Coated Liquistore® Tank

Our glass fused steel tank is the Glass Coated Liquistore®, purpose-built for sewage, effluent, and corrosive waste streams. It is a modular, bolted tank, so panels come together on site to the size you need. Superior sealing keeps stored liquid in and stops it reaching the ground, which protects your site and your compliance record. It is part of our wider waste and effluent storage range.

Where Glass Fused Steel Tanks Are Used

Glass fused steel tanks earn their place anywhere waste liquid needs safe, contained storage. Agriculture uses them for on-site effluent, manufacturing and chemical plants for corrosive by-products, and municipal sites for effluent ahead of treatment. In food and beverage wastewater tanks, the same glass surface keeps process waste contained without corroding. One construction covers a lot of demanding jobs.

Sealed, Compliant, and Built to Last

Getting effluent storage wrong is costly, so these tanks are engineered to get it right. Superior sealing prevents leaks and ground contamination, and every tank is designed to meet current UK environmental regulations for waste containment. For larger duties, our industrial wastewater storage tanks scale up without losing that protection. One thing to note, glass fused steel tanks are not suitable for oil or hydrocarbon storage.

Sizing and Customising Your Glass Fused Steel Tank

Because the tank is modular, we size it to your volume rather than a fixed range, from smaller on-site stores to large industrial and agricultural capacities. You can specify covers in GRP, aluminium, stainless, or galvanised steel, plus ladders, platforms, and pipework to suit your site. Built the same way as our sectional water tanks, each one is put together on site to fit your layout.
