Galvanised Steel Water Tanks

Galvanised steel is the workhorse material of industrial water storage, and for good reason. It’s durable, cost-effective, and engineered to deliver decades of reliable service on sites across the UK and internationally. Franklin Hodge manufactures galvanised steel water tanks across our full range of cylindrical and rectangular products, built for fire protection, drinking water, process water, and general liquid storage applications.

Can Franklin Hodge Offer Galvanised Steel Tanks?

Yes, Franklin Hodge provides high-grade hot-dip galvanised steel tanks with a zinc coating of 300gms per side. Hot-dip galvanising is what gives the steel its long-term corrosion resistance, and the 300gms per side coating weight is what makes these tanks a safe long-service specification for industrial, commercial, and municipal sites.

Every tank is site-assembled from sectional panels, which means they can be installed in locations that wouldn’t suit a delivered pre-built vessel, from confined plant rooms and basements through to open industrial and agricultural sites. You can see the full tank range on our water storage tanks page.

Our Galvanised Steel Water Tank Range

Four sectional tank ranges are available in hot-dip galvanised steel:

  • Liquistore® is our cylindrical liquid storage tank for drinking water, process water, and general liquid applications. It is the only WRAS-approved tank in our range, lined with PVC for potable water compliance.
  • Firestore® is our cylindrical fire protection tank, carrying LPCB approval for fire sprinkler and firefighting systems where certification is required.
  • Liquitainer® is our rectangular liquid storage tank, used where floor space is limited or the tank needs to fit within an existing structure such as a plant room or basement.
  • Firetainer® is our rectangular LPCB-approved fire protection tank, with a scaled-down version available for residential and multi-occupancy sprinkler installations.

Where Galvanised Steel Water Tanks Are Typically Used

Hot-dip galvanised steel is the practical default for most UK inland installations, including:

  • Industrial and manufacturing facilities requiring process or fire protection water
  • Commercial developments and high-rise buildings with sprinkler systems
  • Agricultural operations needing reliable on-site water reserves
  • Local authority, utility, and municipal water storage projects
  • Large, galvanised water tank installations where capacity and long-term durability are the priority

Capacity, Compliance, and Lifecycle

Our galvanised steel water tanks are available from 10m³ up to 5,000m³, so a single supplier can cover everything from compact commercial fire protection systems through to large municipal water reserves. For potable applications, our WRAS-approved Liquistore® and drinking water tanks range meet UK regulations for stored water quality. Where existing tanks are approaching the end of their service life, our tank refurbishment services can extend it rather than replace, giving you a single source for the full lifecycle.
