We use a special grade of butyl rubber tested to BS6920 standards and approved by the UK Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS), ensuring safe storage of potable water.

Both butyl rubber and EPDM materials create a completely impermeable seal, preventing the transmission of liquids and vapour. 

Resistant to tearing, puncturing, and wear, these materials remain durable even under challenging conditions like foundation subsidence or minor surface irregularities. 

Our materials maintain their strength and elasticity over time, even when exposed to sunlight, ultraviolet rays, and ozone. No additives or plasticisers are used, meaning they won’t degrade. 

Butyl rubber and EPDM can handle temperatures from -30°C to +120°C, making them ideal for a wide range of environments. For water stored above ambient temperatures, we recommend contacting us for guidance. 

These materials can stretch up to 300% of their normal size without losing their water-retaining properties.

Our tank liners are also resistant to water treatment chemicals like chlorine, making them suitable for sterilisation in accordance with BS6700.
