Carter Environmental Cooling Towers
Carter Environmental’s merger with Franklin Hodge Industries enables us to build on decades of engineering and quality manufacturing from both brands. This includes Visco Cooling Towers, which has been part of Franklin Hodge since 2003, providing reliable, low maintenance water cooling system.
We offer premium water-cooling solutions suitable for both the UK and international markets.
Our cooling systems are designed and manufactured in our Birmingham facility. We prioritise quality, performance, and environmental sustainability.
Forced Draught Cooling Tower Centrifugal Fan
The Carter BAL Series cooling tower is a forced-draft, counterflow design equipped with belt-driven centrifugal fans positioned at the base of the tower. This series offers a wide range of water flow rates, from 6 to 600 cubic meters per hour, and can be configured as single or multi-cell units. Available in open and closed circuit variants.
Induced Draught Cooling Tower Axial Fan
The Carter BUC Series cooling tower is an induced-draft, counterflow design featuring direct-drive duct axial fans positioned at the top of the tower. This series offers a wide range of water flow rates, from 6 to 600 cubic metres per hour, and can be configured as single or mutli-cell units. Available in open and closed circuit variants.
Forced Draught Cooling Tower Axial Fan
The Carter SAN Series cooling tower is a forced-draught, counterflow design equipped with direct-drive duct axial fan sets positioned at the base of the tower. This series offers a wide range of water flow rates, from 6 to 600 cubic metres per hour, and can be configured in single or multi-cell units. Available in open and closed circuit variants.
Dry Air Blast Coolers
The Carter ABC and WABC series of closed circuit coolers are manufactured with either copper or stainless steel coils and a variety of fan and motor configurations. WABC’s have an adiabatic mode package to cool the incoming air and lower the fluid outlet temperature to below the ambient dry bulb.

Spare Parts
We remain dedicated to supporting our customers with quality spare parts for all the cooling equipment we design and manufacture, as an OEM we can provide spare parts for equipment supplied back to the 1980’s and earlier and will continue to support our units going forward. Many items are stocked and dispatched worldwide from our UK factory.
FAQs
1Is Franklin Hodge BS/ISO 14001:2015 accredited?
Yes, Franklin Hodge holds BS/ISO 14001:2015 accreditation.
2How do I order spare parts?
3Can you design a “flat pack” cooling tower where access for crane lifting is difficult?
Yes, we have extensive experience in manufacturing and installing cooling towers in areas with restricted access. We have successfully completed numerous projects in London where space constraints required a flat-pack design for easy assembly on-site.
4Can you make a cooling tower quieter?
Yes, we offer a range of sound attenuation solutions to minimise noise from the inlet, outlet, and breakout areas of the cooling tower.
5Can you manufacture a cooling tower to operate in corrosive environments?
Yes, our cooling towers are constructed from stainless steel, which provides excellent resistance to corrosion, ensuring long-term durability in harsh environments.
6Are your cooling towers environmentally sustainable?
Yes, all our cooling towers are made from fully recyclable materials, unlike GRP. This ensures they retain their material value at the end of their service life, making them a more sustainable choice.
7Where should a cooling tower be used?
Cooling towers are ideal for any application requiring efficient heat rejection with a compact footprint. Common uses include data centres, commercial buildings, and industrial processes.
8Can you sell ladders separately?
Yes, we offer a range of ladder sizes from 1.5m to 15m, available for individual purchase.
