Galvanised Steel Grain Silos

Concrete lined water tanks give you reliable storage by fitting a waterproofing liner inside an existing concrete structure. The liner makes the chamber watertight, so you can store water or wastewater without building a new tank from scratch. It is a practical option when you already have concrete space to work with on an industrial or commercial site.

What Are Concrete Lined Water Tanks?

A concrete lined water tank is an existing concrete chamber fitted with a waterproofing liner so it can hold liquid safely. The liner does the sealing, while the concrete provides the structure. That lets you turn a redundant or underused concrete space into usable storage for water, wastewater, or other industrial liquids depending on the liner specified.

How Concrete Water Tank Lining Works

The liner is matched to the liquid you plan to store, then fitted to the shape of your structure. It seals the surface, stops leaks, and keeps the stored contents separated from the concrete. Linings are tailored around internal features such as protrusions and roof support columns, so an awkward chamber still works as a tank. Our water tank lining covers fire protection, potable and industrial use.

Choosing the Right Liner for a Concrete Water Tank

The liner material is matched to the contents and the conditions. Butyl rubber and EPDM are common choices, with strong resistance to wear, tear and puncturing on industrial sites. For drinking water, the liner must meet potable water standards, which is where our potable water tank liners come in. For waste, durability under heavier loads takes priority.

Concrete Water Tank Waterproofing

Waterproofing is the core job a liner does. A correctly specified liner stops water escaping the chamber and stops the concrete contaminating the water, both of which matter for compliance and operational uptime. The lining is fitted as a single tailored system, not patched in sections, which is why a lined tank holds up over years of use.

Repairing and Relining a Concrete Water Tank

If your concrete tank is leaking or showing its age, relining restores it without a full rebuild. We assess the structure first, then fit a new liner suited to the contents. A condition check is the sensible starting point, and our ROV tank surveys inspect the inside of a tank without taking it out of service. Where a tank needs new access points for ongoing maintenance, a water tank access hatch can be fitted as part of the refurbishment scope.

Why Concrete Lined Water Tanks Make Commercial Sense

Concrete lined water tanks reuse what you already have, which cuts construction costs and avoids new groundworks. They make the most of empty space inside a building, and they last for years when properly built and maintained. Each tank is built to your dimensions, so capacity fits the site, and ongoing tank refurbishment services protect that investment over time. Our standard water tank warranty underwrites the build quality across the early years of service.
