FAQs

What is a tank lining?

A tank lining is a protective coating that is installed inside the tank, to prevent corrosion, to keep the contents uncontaminated and to protect the structure of the tank. The linings are made from specialist materials that are safe for use with drinking water.

What materials do you use for water tank lining?

If your tank stores potable or drinking water, we offer a special butyl rubber lining which is approved in line with the UK Water Regulations Advisory Scheme.

Our linings are:

  • Impermeable: These materials provide a completely watertight seal, with a strong resistance to liquid or vapour penetration due to their dense molecular structure.
  • Weather resistant: All of the materials that we use for our tank liners have undergone rigorous testing, in accordance with various UK and international standards. They also maintain outstanding durability, even under prolonged exposure to sunlight, radiation, and extreme cold.
  • Elastic: In the case of our liners manufactured from butyl rubber and EPDM, these will stretch to 300% of their original size, before losing water retaining properties.
  • Durable: Both materials offer superior resistance to wear, tear, cracking and puncturing.
